Solar System Design

West Hills Construction, Inc. Solar Division (WHC Solar) designs, engineers and installs each PV system to meet each client’s individual energy needs. WHC Solar staff provides on-site project management and clear client communication throughout each of our projects.

With Solar Technology advancing rapidly, WHC Solar is always up to date with new products from solar panel manufacturers and integrates it with each site’s design to minimize visual impact.

As part of its turnkey service, WHC Solar first surveys each site’s total energy needs by analyzing the last 12 months’ worth of electric bills. WHC Solar uses this summary of annual energy needs to design the correctly sized solar system for each site as well as providing the business with a detailed financial analysis that outlines the SAVINGS from solar.

As part of its energy survey, WHC Solar also suggests ways by which the site owners can conserve energy. This may include upgrading or replacing lights, air conditioning and appliances with new equipment for added energy efficiency.

While the WHC Solar Consultant is at your site, they will also take a sun analysis to make sure your home can benefit from a Solar system. This sun analysis helps us see all of the shading problems that are caused by trees, light poles, other houses, and hills. This ensures there will be no issues with putting a Solar system on your roof!

Each system is designed to collect the most sunlight year-round; the solar panels are mounted directly to the south-facing slopes on pitched or hipped roofs. For a flat-roofed site, the PV panels can be installed on angled supports.

West Hills Construction, Inc. provides a 10-year installer warranty in combination with the manufacturer warranty to protect the purchaser against defective workmanship, system or component breakdown, or degradation in electrical output of more than fifteen percent from their originally rated electrical output during the ten-year period.
